FENDER ROLAND Ready GC-1 STRATOCASTER Lace Sensor Locking Tuners Strat 68961

Regular price $1,250

Fender GC-1 Roland Stratocaster in Sunburst, ready to connect to your Roland processor.

Description
You're looking at a 2006 Fender GC-1 Roland ready Stratocaster in black finish, made in Mexico. Why the price? This is a very special upgraded guitar. It will appeal to someone who wants a Roland ready Strat with substantial parts upgrades. To begin with: early Lace Sensor Holy Grail pickups, worth somewhere between $300 and $400. Fender locking tuners ($50). Super-Vee BladeRunner tremolo, a $180 bridge. So approximately $600 in top quality parts. Not to mention what looks like a bone nut, more expertly cut than I've seen in a long time (see pic below). (I see some crappy work selling used guitars. This was done right. Previous owner cared about making this guitar play well.)

Cosmetics are 8.5/10. No major dings. One small ding near jack, minor edge scuffs and minor marks on back of neck. Frets are in B to B+ condition. Lots of meat with mild flattening and just the hint of grooves starting on first three frets, no rough edges (close pic below). One Tone pot was replaced with Mouser pot, other two are CTS. Currently strung with 10s. Weight is 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Plays with all the advantages of a standard Strat with the added bonus of a 13-pin jack that enables you to connect via MIDI using the GK-2 Roland pickup that's onboard. Will include a gig bag. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Manufacturer Info
Equipped with a GK-2 Roland pickup, this unique model Strat is an awesome player that manages to do even more than the already versatile Stratocaster typically does. The electronics system allows the player complete control of their sound, fitted with dual outputs (1/4” and 13-pin) and the ability to play through them independently or simultaneously. The 5-way switch grants the player access to all the Stratocaster tones they know and love, while the Roland GK-2 enabled pickup affords endless midi possibilities.

Guitar Setup
My setup on guitars includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. I spray out any pots that are noisy. I turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. I don't claim to be a trained luthier, but I'm able to set guitars/basses for a reasonable out-of-box experience and have had very few complaints. If you're looking for the perfect setup on a used guitar, please expect to take it to a trained luthier who is familiar with your individual playing style and preferences. ps: basses get the same setup minus the new strings. Thanks!

Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
