FENDER VINTAGE 1984-87 CONTEMPORARY STRATOCASTER HH MIJ JAPAN Tremolo 28081

Regular price $899

Description
You're looking at a great Strat--an "E" Series Fender Contemporary Stratocaster made in Japan in black finish with matching black headstock. This is a different take on the Strat with an HH pickup configuration and a Fender branded Schaller System One locking tremolo. The HH configuration is the most rare one to find on these models--most got HSS or SSS setups. Guitar is in great playing shape for its age. It has a simple Volume/Tone setup with 3-way pickup switch.

This is a vintage guitar and has plenty of play wear--marks, dings, etc. Some of the fine tuners have been replaced on the bridge. The pickguard is not original, and the original string guides on the headstock have been replaced. The chrome tremolo bar fits and works well though it's not the original. Neck is 22 frets, 12" radius, C shape. "Fender Japan" stamped tuners. No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Manufacturer Info
In the '80s, Fender produced a set of Stratocasters with more modern appointments in attempt to keep up with popular guitars from companies like Kramer and Jackson. The Contemporary Stratocaster was originally built in Japan with one of several pickup configurations (single humbucker, HH or HSS) and a locking Floyd Rose-esque tremolo bridge. Not to be confused with the U.S. Custom Shop Contemporary Stratocaster from 1989 - 1991.

-- Years of Production: 1985 - 1988
-- Body Style: Double cutaway solidbody
-- Wood Composition: Alder body, Rosewood fingerboard, Maple neck
