GIBSON 2001 LES PAUL JUNIOR Special Plus Red Flame Maple Top Clean! 31693

This is a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Special Plus with a red flame maple top and all gold hardware. Amazingly clean condition for a near 20-year-old guitar. Frets and neck are excellent. Gold hardware is very good for it's age with only some small spots of oxidation. Two covered 490R and 498T humbuckers sound warm and creamy. It's got a slim taper 60s neck and contour body. Woods include mahogany back, sides and neck, indian rosewood fretboard and maple top. You'll find most of these floating around with lots of player wear due to the age. This one is super clean. I found one tiny mark on the back the size of a pencil tip. Grab this rare beauty while you can! Fresh setup and thorough cleaning just done. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) The Les Paul Junior Special, featuring 2 pickups instead of the Junior's one, followed quickly on the Junior's heels in 1955. Like the Junior, it soon became a favorite of working musicians around the country. The added front pickup broadened its sonic potential with warmer rhythm tones. Now you can have the classic minimalist Les Paul Junior Special tone”as generated by 490R and 498T Alnico magnet humbuckers”but with some added natural flash in the form of a flat figured AA maple top highlighted with gold hardware. Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece. Rosewood 22-fret fingerboard. Mahogany back and neck (set).

Guitar Setup

All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

Packing

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
