DANELECTRO LONGHORN BASS 90s First Run Korean Re-Issue Short Scale Clean! 031019
Take the bull by the horns with this classic Danelectro short scale bass.
Description
This is a really amazing Danelectro Longhorn bass. This short scale bass is from the the first re-issue of Danelectro's 1960s Longhorn bass. These were made in Korea and are worth much more than the most recent Chinese made re-issues from Danelectro. Some of the interesting features on this bass include lipstick pickups, stacked Volume/Tone pots, a rosewood bridge piece, and hollow body construction. With the 30-inch scale and super lightweight body (5 pounds, 11 ounces), you won't believe the tone you get with this bass. So small and easy to hold, it's a lot of fun to play. Surprisingly high quality workmanship. The paint, neck and frets are all in excellet shape on this bass. It's setup and playing really nicely. If there was any downside, it's that the small tuning keys can be hard to turn once at full tension, but it may be due to the amount of winds at the moment. I will be re-stringing it and report back. Missing one tuner ferrule and some slight separation of the tape that runs around the outside of the body (see pics). I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. The tone this bass produces is way beyond what you might expect. It's a little mighty-mite for sure. Plenty of deep low end there and lots of different sounds to be found between the two pickups and with the tone knobs. It does have a very characteristic sound due to the hollow body and short scale. Probalby like no other bass in your arsenal.

Guitar Setup
All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
