Awesome looks and playability with this "what's old is new" 50s-style SG.

Description
This is a 2013 Gibson SG 50s Tribute in Mahogany Brown satin nitro finish. Great looking and playing guitar. The dual P90 pickups are the star of the show here with big vintage tone. Mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays provide the tonewoods for this machine Nice rounded 50s neck profile and 24 medium jumbo frets. These have a thin satin nitro finish to let the tone come through. All electronics, neck, frets, in good condition. The "Prototype" designation on back of headstock is Gibson's nod to the early transition from Les Pauls to SG's. Super light and easy to handle at 6 pounds, 5 ounces. Comes with like new Gibson deluxe gig bag. Condition is super clean. Only some minor marks on back and headstock and one knob has its "Tone" sticker missing. TONE
P90s are the ultimate happy medium between a single coil and a humbucker. You get the grit and grow of a humbucker with the clarity of a single coil. Expect buzzing and noise as they're not known to be a quite pickup, but the sounds they make, are worth it.

Like the greatest SG Standards ever made, the Gibson SG ’50s Tribute starts with a solid mahogany body is crafted in the distinctive, thin asymmetrical dual-cutaway style, with iconic pointed “horns” and beveled edges to enhance playing comfort. A solid mahogany neck is glued into the body and carved to a comfortably rounded ’50s profile that measures .818” at the 1st fret and .963” at the 12th. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 24 medium-jumbo frets to maximize this neck’s excellent fret access, and traditional trapezoid inlays. A PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian subtly complements the black top-hat knobs with silver inserts. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson and holly logo, and, in a fun touch, stamped with “Prototype” to indicate this as a ’50s-era transition from Les Paul to SG.

The guitar's firepower is derived from a pair of P-90 pickups. The P-90s currently made by Gibson USA adhere strictly to the vintage formula, which includes two genuine Alnico V bar magnets per pickup and a coil wound with 42-AWG enamel-coated wire for all the growl, snarl, and articulation that has made the originals legendary. The traditional wiring complement of an independent volume and tone control per pickup, plus a three-way toggle selector switch, allows a broad range of sonic variations. Final touches include Gibson's famous design of the Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece for solid sustain, and genuine Grover kidney button tuners, for precision tuning.

Guitar Setup

All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

Packing

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
