Awesome looks and playability with this "what's old is new" 50s-style SG.

Description
This is a killer 2013 Gibson SG 50s Tribute in worn cherry finish, made in USA. It's a great looking guitar in excellent playing condition. Only difference between this and the 60s tribute is this one has the chunkier rounded 50s neck--not the Slim 60s. Tuners have been upgraded with locking Sperzels. It's all about TONE with the two Alnico soapbar P90 pickups on the mahogany body and neck. The thin satin finish lets more warm sustain come through. Thin, light body weighs in at a trim 6 pounds, 14 ounces. It says "Prototype" on back of headstock as these all did from the factory. Cosmetically in excellent condition, 9/10, with only some pickguard scuffing and couple tiny marks around control knobs. You can expect the thin satin finish to wear quickly for a light relic look. This limited edition guitar was only made for a couple years. I've sold these before and they go fast, so grab it before someone else does! No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. TONE
P90s are the ultimate happy medium between a single coil and a humbucker. You get the grit and grow of a humbucker with the clarity of a single coil. Expect buzzing and noise as they're not known to be a quite pickup, but the sounds they make, are worth it.

The Prototype SG that Never Was!
The Gibson SG Tribute '50s model solidbody electric guitar instantly transports you back to Ted McCarty's modest luthier's shop the late 1950s, when Les Paul sales had begun to taper off and Gibson began looking for the next big thing in electric guitar design. The new solidbody electric guitar model they designed provided many advantages the original Les Paul model lacked. A slimmer and lightweight body, accessible double cutaway, and extended 24-fret neck were all seen as revolutionary from the beginning and eventually made the SG a favorite among countless next-generation guitarists. Guitar Setup

All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

Packing

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
