GIBSON SG SPECIAL 70s TRIBUTE T SATIN Black Beauty! Alnico HB Nice Retro! 1467

Awesome looks and playability with this "what's old is new" 70s-style SG.

This is a 2012 Gibson SG 70s Tribute in black Satin finish. The Dual Blade Alnico mini-humbuckers are the star of the show here with a vintage tone and retro look. Mahogany body and baked maple fretboard with rectangle inlays. These have a thin satin nitro finish to let the tone come through. I think the creme pickguard and pickup rings and gold knobs look amazing on this black guitar. Really something to see! Pretty clean condition but does have some rather cool looking wear around the edges and other minor marks for the beginning of a relic look. Also previous owner engraved a message on the rear plate (see pics). All electronics, neck, frets, in good condition. I just set this up with new strings and set intonation. It's ready to play and enjoy. Weight is 6 pounds, 3 ounces. No case.

Like the most revered vintage SGs, the SG Special ’70s Tribute starts with a solid mahogany body. This classic tonewood offers superb depth and balance, and is extremely light for optimum playing comfort. Carved to the traditional asymmetrical double-cutaway shape, the SG also offers outstanding upper-fret access. Like many great Gibsons of the ’70s, the neck is made from maple and carved to a profile unique to the era, which measures .800” deep at the 1st fret and increases to .963” at the 12th, with a volute behind the nut to both strengthen the headstock joint and enhance neck resonance. A chocolate-brown baked maple fingerboard carries small block inlays, and terminates in a PLEK-cut Corian™ nut with a width of 1-11/16”.
