GIBSON 2016 LES PAUL 50s TRIBUTE T Goldtop 490 PU 01815
You're looking at a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Tribute in a nitro goldtop finish. I buffed this one to a high shine, so it has less of the matte look to it. These Tributes give you Les Paul tone at a reasonable weight (8 pounds, 2 ounces), and a mahogany body and neck provides the well-known sustain and power of a Paul. The TONE from the 490R and 498T humbuckers is nice, and this one has the rounded 50s profile neck that has some slight chunkiness in the hand (many sellers don’t even know which they have, the 50s or 60s Tribute—the necks feel different on them).
These Tribute models have a thin finish that won't choke your tone, as well as some nice details--the green tulip Kluson tuners, large neck inlays, and aged plastics and gold knobs. Cosmetically, it has small marks (see pics), and is well on its way to becoming a nice mild relic. Frets are in good condition. No case. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks
What You Get
-- Full setup, cleaning, and new strings.
-- FREE USA shipping.
-- 30-day return policy.
-- Ship within 1 business day--pro packing.
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute T has a traditional Les Paul mahogany body with a grain textured, satin finish maple top, as well as a mahogany neck with a '50s profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The time-tested selection of tonewoods, while Green Keys-style tuners and the faithful Tune-O-Matic bridge keep your tuning stability and intonation true during even the longest gigs.
During the 50's the Les Paul was a real big and heavy guitar. There was no such thing as weight relief back then and people liked big and chunky necks that you could really dig in to without causing any kind of damage.
This guitar takes the same size and shape of the 50's Les Pauls but updates it with some modern weight relief in the Mahogany body that is topped with a beautiful piece of maple. This means that you can play for longer without the back and neck strain that so many players associate with the Les Paul at longer gigs.
The neck has not been changed much. In fact it still uses the same rounded 50's style neck profile that has been offered on guitars for years as part of the Gibson line-up. Made out of mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard this guitar is a joy to play especially for Les Paul traditionalists.
One of the biggest tricks this guitar has up its sleeves is the pickups that are installed. The 50's tribute features a pair of the rather hot but vintage inspired 490R and 498T pickups that are incredibly popular for a wide range of styles.
By playing with the volume and tone controls you can dial these pickups back to get classic PAF tones or turned up they deliver a much hotter sound perfect for more modern rock and metal styles where fast attack and great response are key to getting your sound.
Just like the original 50's LP this guitar doesn't feature any kind of crazy modern hardware. No this guitar has simple but extremely solid parts that will keep the guitar feeling and sounding great for years to come.
With a very traditional stopbar tailpiece that has been used for nearly the entire life of the Les Paul and some classic green key style tuners not only does it look superb but it has the stability and feel of a premium guitar that has been around for a long time.
Professional Set Up
As part of the 2016 line this guitar has received a premium set up even before it has gone through our QC checks. This means that you can take this guitar out of the box on day one, go straight to your gig and rock up without any issues with the guitar at all.
No longer do you need to wait for a few days while you get your guitar. We all know that you want to get using a new guitar as soon as possible so Gibson have made sure you can do just that.
