GIBSON Ultra Rare Yamano Japanese Run SG JUNIOR Jr 60s Rare P-90! TV Yellow 60445

Regular price $1,250

Gibson SG Jr---rare TV Yellow!

This is a 2006 Gibson SG Junior in TV Yellow. These SG Jr's were only made in the USA in Cherry or Black, but there were a limited amount made as a special run for Gibson's Japanese distributor, Yamano, thus, you almost never see this model in this color. Made in USA for the Japanese market. They are modeled after the SG made between 1965 and 1971 that has a soapbar P90, large "Batwing" pickguard and smaller lighter body. (Only 5 pounds, 14 ounces--Townshend leaps anyone?) Iconic P90/mahogany combo provides cutting tone that stands out in the mix--somewhere between a humbucker and single-coil. Classic wraparound bridge. Playing wear includes some minor scuffs show in pictures below. (There may be additional tiny marks I deemed to small to picture. However, if you're concerned about any/all imperfections contact before buying!). Simple Volume/Tone setup. Nothing fancy, just pure rock & roll deliverance. No case. (I will include an aftermarket hard case for an extra $50--USA buyers only!). I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.)  I may end auction early if it sells elsewhere. Thanks for looking!

See video demo below (it's the dog-ear version but very similar).

Manufacturer Info
A lighter SG with tonal cut to match its sharp looks. The single P-90 pickup at the bridge of this Gibson SG JR P-90 Electric Guitar generates a more edgy yet still full-bodied tone that calls to mind Pete Townshend. The mahogany body and set mahogany neck generate great resonance for increased sustain. In 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned with a thinner body and 2 sharp cutaway horns that making the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. The new model was popular, but Les Paul the guitarist did not like it and asked to have his name removed. Gibson renamed the model the "SG" which was short for "solid guitar". Though Les Paul's name was officially removed from the model in 1961, the plastic Les Paul nameplates (positioned between the rhythm pickup and fingerboard) were in abundance in the Gibson factory and SG models having these nameplates were built and sold by Gibson up to end of 1963. SGs have been the choice of world-class artists such as Pete Townsend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, and Angus Young.
