Vintage 1993 GIBSON NIGHTHAWK SPECIAL SP-2 First Production Year in Cherry 3399
A vintage guitar with Gibson attributes--maple capped body and set neck--but notable for borrowing Fender-like features such as a 25.5-inch scale neck, string-thru design, and lighter weight.
This is a 1993 Gibson Nighthawk was produced the first year they made this guitar. Notable for its 25.5-inch Fender-like scale, it was only produced for five years and was not a hit at the time. However, players have come to prize the features such as Gibson set neck and quality without the heavy weight of a Les Paul. Pickups allow for different tones than the usual Gibson. Has wear cosistent with being a 24-year-old axe. The gold hardware shows wear. Other playing wear throughout including where a previous owner wrote his name with magic marker (may come off with the right cleaner), and some clear coat beginning to peel at arm rest and on back. The frets are in great shape. D tuner slightly bent but still works fine. Great player with lots of miles left in the tank. No case.
