Description
You're looking at a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Tribute in a satin goldtop finish. It comes with Gibson deluxe gigbag and all original case candy, including strap. When you strap it on, the first thing you notice is it won't break your back. The mahogany body still has all the sustain and tone of a Paul but with some weight relief to lighten the load. The next thing you notice is the TONE from the 490R and 498T humbuckers on board, and the SlimTaper 60s neck profile feels good in the hands.
These satin finish Tribute models have a thin finish that won't choke your tone, as well as some nice details--the green tulip Kluson tuners, large neck inlays, and aged plastics and gold knobs. Cosmetically, it has only a few small marks (see pics). Frets are in excellent condition. There is one place on back of neck where the finish is marred from a guitar stand and you can feel it. I could sand it down smooth if buyer prefers, but you'll loose some of the finish and see the wood that way. Weight is a very light 7 pounds 6 ounces! I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. Gibson 490 pickups are a modern take on a 1960s classic
English guitarists of the 1960s were looking for a more aggressive sound to push their modern brand of blues, rock, and soul. Gibson responded with its 490 pickup set. These had more bite than Gibson's PAF ("Patent Applied For") pickups of the 1950s. The reissue 490T and 490R pay tribute to this turning point in rock history. Their voice is smooth and clearly vintage inspired, yet to our ears has more high-end cut and midrange chutzpah than vintage pickups. They're also wax potted to reduce microphonic feedback, which is a big win with high-gain amp pairings.
