FENDER 50s ROAD WORN TELECASTER FSR 2019 Relic Purple Tele Rare Guitar 87003

Regular price $949

This is a 2019 Fender Road Worn 50s Telecaster in Purple Metallic finish. These were a Factory Special Run (FSR) guitar so not too many around. It is in perfect condition with all the great factory relic wear and Tex-Mex pickups for pure tone. In particular on this guitar I like the finish checking you can see on the front of the body. It's not easy to achieve realistic checking like this.

All stock except for upgraded brass compensated saddles, which let you get more accurate intonation, and strap pins are Dunlop type to work with strap locks. I think I have a pair of those locks lying around if buyer requests I will include some. Weight is a very comfortable 7 pounds, 6 ounces. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Thanks for looking!

Manufacturer Info

Those who prize older instruments with the battered look of years on the road and the scars of countless gigs can still have that authentically aged vibe without spending decades on the road themselves. The irresistibly cool look of finish worn through to the wood, rusted hardware, a bruised neck and yellowing plastic parts are yours right away with Road Worn instruments. The Road Worn '50s Telecaster sounds, looks and feels like it's been there and back, has more than a few miles on it, and then some.

With authentic 1950s styling aged to impart a lifetime of wear and tear that has somehow made it get even better, it's a must-have for the guitar player who appreciates broken-in look and vibe. Available now in this Limited Edition Road Worn Purple Metallic Finish.

Solid alder body with limited-edition Road Worn finish
25.5"-scale maple neck with 21-fret, 7.25"-radius maple fingerboard
Tex-Mex Telecaster single-coil pickups, 3-way pickup selector switch
Vintage-style through-body 3-saddle Tele bridge, vintage-style tuners

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
