FENDER Classic Series 60s JAZZMASTER Lacquer 2015 Surf Green Clean! +Candy 97451

Regular price $1,199

This is a 2015 Fender Classic 60s Surf Green Jazzmaster in nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Comes with all original paperwork, including hang tag, plus gig bag and tremolo bar. These have thin vintage frets and a beautiful dark rosewood fretboard. Plays really nice and has some great sounding American '65 Vintage pickups.

Note, this is much more "vintage" spec than the current Vintera 60s Jazzmaster. Differences include:

-- Nito lacquer--not Poly
-- Rosewood fretboard instead of Pau Ferro
-- Vintage 7.25" neck radius, not 9.5"
-- Vintage thin frets, not med jumbo
-- Vintage floating bridge -- not adjusto-matic
-- White pickguard instead of tortoise

So in my book, it's much more a 60s Jazz. The Vintera model really has no business being called a "60s" guitar. Cosmetically it's very clean, 9.5/10 condition. A tiny pinhead size mark on back (see pics). Frets are A+ condition. Weight is 7 pounds, 13 ounces. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.)  Thanks for looking!

Guitar Setup
All setups are done by our in-house luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!

I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

Vintage-Style Frets

This is the smallest fret size, neither as tall nor as wide as medium jumbo frets. This is how Fender used to make them back in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, and is the comfortable way to go for those who grew up with them or simply prefer the feel of smaller frets.

7.25" Fingerboard Radius

The fingerboard radius is an important spec that describes the curvature of the fingerboard. This instrument has a 7.25" fingerboard radius, with a more pronounced "vintage-style" curvature typical of vintage Fender guitars from the 1950’s, ’60 and ’70s. It’s comfortable for chords and a great choice for those who prefer the feel of vintage instruments or a rounder fingerboard.

New American Vintage Pickups

This Classic 60s Jazzmaster Lacquer features specially voiced American Vintage pickups meticulously researched and crafted to reproduce the authentic design, voice and performance of the great Fender guitars of the 1960s.

Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish

Nitrocellulose lacquer is one of the great original-era Fender electric guitar finishes, and is still used today on select instruments. Thin, porous and delicate, it’s a premium finish prized for sonic qualities that let body woods breathe and showcase its true tonal character. Lacquer also ages and wears in a distinctive way that appeals to many players.

“C” Neck Profile

The neck of this instrument has a comfortable “C” shaped neck profile, sculpted to impart a vintage-style playing feel from Fender’s first golden age in the 1950s and ’60s. The most prevalent neck profile shape, it’s remarkably comfortable and ideal for all playing styles.

Vintage-Style Bridge with Floating Tremolo

An addition to its other authentic 1960s-era design elements, this guitar features a fully adjustable vintage-style bridge with six saddles and “floating” tremolo tailpiece.
